POLICE OFFICER
The City of Blanchard is a vibrant, rapidly growing community located just southwest of the Oklahoma City metro area between Norman and Chickasha. The Blanchard Police Department continually accepts applications for quality police officers. Police Officers are responsible for community service; jurisdictional patrol; the enforcement of traffic and criminal laws; arrests and booking, etc.
State mandated minimum requirements are:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- No felony convictions
- No involvement in crimes of domestic violence
- Free of moral turpitude
Preferred candidates may possess:
- College degree or significant hours toward such
- CLEET Basic Peace Officer certification or above
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Sound judgment and the ability to think quickly
- Highly principled ethics and moral character
- A true desire to serve all members of society
Successful candidates must:
- Undergo a rigorous background examination
- Complete a physical fitness assessment
- Complete a written exam of basic knowledge
- Appear before a structured interview board
- Pass polygraph examination and interview
- Pass psychological examination and interview

RESERVE OFFICER

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER
The City of Blanchard is a vibrant, rapidly growing community located just southwest of the Oklahoma City metro area between Norman and Chickasha. The Blanchard Police Department is currently accepting applications for quality Communications Officers. Communications Officers are responsible for dispatching police, fire, and emergency services; maintaining the 911 system; supervision of prisoners in the municipal jail, etc.
Minimum requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- No felony convictions
- No involvement in crimes of domestic violence
- Free of moral turpitude
Preferred candidates may possess:
- Experience in communication/dispatch environments
- OLETS and/or jail training/ certification
- College degree or significant hours toward such
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Viable computer and office skills
- Highly principled ethics and moral character
