The Blanchard Police Department is dedicated to protecting and serving the City of Blanchard, its residents, and its visitors. In order to be successful in this ongoing endeavor, the Police Department needs the cooperation of our citizens and guests. The combined efforts of the police officers and the residents will ensure that criminal activity is kept to a minimum or prevented and that Blanchard is made a safe, secure community. With this in mind, the Police Department asks that residents and visitors follow some simple safety guidelines.
Residents should make sure that their residence or vehicle is properly secured/locked when they are not present. If you are going to be away from home for an extended period of time, leave a light on or use a switch timer to have a light come on in hours of darkness. Also, make use of the Blanchard Police Department's EXTRA PATROL Program when you are out of town by contacting the department and scheduling the dates needed. You should keep all valuable items in secure storage areas and retain all necessary paperwork containing serial numbers, descriptions, and cost of the items in cases where items are taken.
Pertaining to residents and visitors, always park in well lighted areas in hours of darkness when out in public. Everyone should be aware of their surroundings, persons in the area, and activity by staying alert. Walk with your head up, eyes moving, and appear to have a purpose. This will help prevent you from being perceived as a target and from possibly becoming a victim of crime. Also, keep valuables, cash, keys, and other important items in your pockets or purse. If you do have a purse, hold in close to your body and keep it closed.
If you should witness any suspicious activity or criminal behavior, call 911 immediately and report it. This will ensure an officer gets to the scene in a timely manner and can take care of the situation.
With the combined efforts of the citizens and the Blanchard Police Department, we can make the City of Blanchard a safe, friendly place to live and visit.
The Blanchard Police Department is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
